Beijing is home to numerous markets including the ‘Xiu Shui Market' where popular buys include leather goods, clothing and bags. Another market is the ‘Hong Qiao Market'. Situated in the south central area of Beijing, this is where you can haggle for goods like sunglasses, watches and jewellery. For arts and crafts from all over China, check out ‘Panjiayuan Collectors Market'. You'll find the main shopping area around ‘Wangfujing Dajie,' this is where a selection of department stores can be found, such as the ‘Beijing Department Store'.
Beijing's local currency is the Renminbi Yuan (CNY). Beijing is 7 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+ 7).
